Join Changing Women and help flood the internet with positive images of “real” women!

Standard

If you would like to help me in my mission to “flood the internet with positive images of real women”, then please hit  JOIN THE FORUM button on the right hand side of this blog.  By joining you will show your support, and you will be able to create your own profile and post your photo of you being comfortable as a “real woman”.  Alternatively, you can send me a photo of yourself which can be posted, or you can send me a link to your favourite photo, but be sure that you read the Privacy Policy first.

Members of the forum will be able to create their own post, and receive email updates of all posts to the site.  I will also be interviewing “Women of Change” as part of this Forum.  These are women who have changed the world in some way, it can be a small change or a large change, it doesn’t matter.  A lot of our early history was written by men, simply because many women were not educated so much of our history has excluded many women’s stories.  I would like to discuss this imbalance in this forum and add these women’s stories and achievements to the history books.

If any other bloggers out there know a better way for me to share (hopefully) thousands of positive images, I would really appreciate hearing from you.

Can you see the TWEET button at the bottom of this post?

Standard

Please help me to see if anyone can see the TWEET button appearing on this post by completing this quick poll.  I love this wonderful wordpress theme, but can not get it to display the tweet button and support is telling me that it must be my browser.  I would very much welcome your comments.

I just love winter!

Standard

I just love winter because you can get so snuggly in your pyjama’s and dressing gown, put on your slippers, socks and a blanket and be warm and cosy.  I love to just sit in my cosy jama’s on the sofa near the window in the sun and read a good biography or do some blogging.  Not at all glamorous, but sooooo so nice and comfy and cosy – just makes you feel great!

Real Women – really being comfortable

Standard

I am looking for “real women” whose body has changed due to childbirth, change of lifestyle or menopause who would agree to have their photo of them in their most comfortable clothes added to the #changingwomen website. Please email your photo to changingwomen1@hotmail.com or subscribe to this blog for more information.

Comfy, yes but let's see them on real women

If you google “comfy clothes” you  will see lots of examples of women wearing comfortable clothes, but what you don’t see is a REAL WOMEN wearing comfy clothes.  Many are model size women wearing something that looks comfortable, but I want to show how we can wear clothes that fit across your slightly larger tummy, or your slightly expanded hips or your slightly broader back.

Only your first name will be used on the photo when loaded onto the blog and your personal information will not be passed on.

Stop the sabotage

seductive women

Isn’t it time that women stopped sabotaging each other and started to work together?  The predatory behaviour of some women setting out to “take from” other women or “show up” other women doesn’t get any of us anywhere.  It doesn’t help women to progress and it doesn’t help men to progress.  Why do you think men are so successful in this world?  It has nothing to do with them being better or stronger or having more brains than a women, it has a lot to do with the clear code of conduct between men – it was once known as ”gentlemanly behaviour”, maybe this is not the current code, but there is a code, a way that men have of behaving and supporting each other that is positive.  Men often stick together when they are out looking for a female mate so that they have the support of their mates - ”hunting in packs”.  It is about more than just hunting.  They support each other - in funny ways sometimes, like one mate saying to the other, ”hey Johnno, she looks nice” to inappropriate ways that demean women – nevertheless there is a support of each other for the end game.  Although women have an infinite capacity to give positive support of other women, there is a behaviour that sees many women compete against each other to the detriment of each other and ultimately to the detriment of themselves.  Read the rest of this entry

A Call to all “Real Women” out there

Standard

I am looking for “real” size women to take part in a photo gallery of “real” women wearing “real” clothes that are “really” comfortable on “real” women.  I want to have photo’s of women wearing what they feel comfortable in, whether that be your dressing gown and pyjama’s or your most expensive outfit.

Changing Women is a forum to discuss women’s fashion issues, to share idea’s about changing women’s fashion, to empower and inspire each other to “change” themselves and in turn, to change our corners of the world.  The way we look at ourselves from our clothes, our hair to our body shape really affects the way we feel about ourselves – it shouldn’t – but it does, so let’s do our best to support each other and promote an environment to celebrate women by being real and not just subscribing to the traditional male model of what is beautiful and good and desirable in a women.

Stupid Shoes

You know this model – it is the one that we see portrayed in books, magazines, TV commercials, movies, fashion and the list goes on.  We are just people of the female gender so why not have clothes that celebrate our shape without forcing us to “be” something else or to continually strive for the impossible?

Let’s promote substance, integrity and use our “real” woman-ness to make a difference!

Register using the “REGISTER for Email Subscription and I will send you more details on how to get your photo’s displayed on this forum.

Skirts designed to fit your body shape

Susanne Moore Skirt

If you just want to wear something that looks good and is comfortable, have a look at these new skirts designed by me, Susanne Moore. I have designed clothes for the Changing Women after becoming fed up with the choice of clothes for women whose body shape has changed over the years. Sick of being uncomfortable so that you are in fashion and look good? I observed that no matter how fit I was, or how much exercise I did – I had to accept that my body shape had changed and I no longer had the straight, no fat body shape of a model. I have noticed that this can also happen to women whose body has changed due to pregnancy, menopause or aging and I am sure other life changing events as well. Read the rest of this entry

Changing Women – Your clothes don’t fit the same now you are older?

Standard

We all know that our body shape changes over the course of our lifetime and for women it just changes and changes and changes and changes.  No sooner have you gotten past one milestone, like child-birth, when your body is changing shape again to cope with menopause, or your changing body may have changed due to a new lifestyle!

Your body may have changed for lots of reasons, but apart from gaining and losing weight, your real body shape changes as your life changes.  Most clothes are designed to fit a body shape that has no bulges, is straight up and down and pretty much straight out of the box as far as design goes so if you have a few extra kilo’s or just had a life changing experience like giving birth or menopause they don’t always fit comfortably anymore.  During pre menopause you seem to gain weight every week!  I know that I just keep going through clothes and sizes for a year despite rigorously exercising and being on a controlled diet, my shape changed despite my weight staying the same.  Finallyl my weight stabilised.  Read the rest of this entry
